Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the rules for using the AutoSter platform. By using AutoSter, you agree to follow these rules. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.
2. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on AutoSter:
Fake or Fraudulent Listings
- Listing vehicles you do not own or have no legal right to sell.
- Posting listings with intentionally false or misleading information.
- Using stolen or fabricated vehicle images.
- Listing vehicles at artificially low prices to attract buyers (bait-and-switch).
- Creating multiple accounts to post duplicate listings.
Fraud and Scams
- Requesting payment via untraceable methods (wire transfer, cryptocurrency, gift cards).
- Attempting to collect deposits or advance fees for vehicles that do not exist.
- Impersonating AutoSter staff, DVLA officials, or other authorities.
- Phishing for personal or financial information from other users.
- Any form of advance-fee fraud or overpayment scam.
Illegal Vehicle Sales
- Listing stolen vehicles or vehicles with cloned identities.
- Selling Category A or Category B write-off vehicles without explicit disclosure.
- Listing vehicles with outstanding finance without disclosing it to buyers.
- Selling vehicles subject to a logbook loan without disclosure.
- Any vehicle sale that violates UK consumer protection laws.
Spam and Duplicate Ads
- Posting the same vehicle listing more than once.
- Creating multiple listings for the same car with slight variations.
- Using automated tools or bots to post listings.
- Posting commercial advertisements or promotions unrelated to vehicle sales.
- Sending unsolicited commercial messages to other users.
Harassment and Abuse
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users through our messaging system.
- Using hate speech, discriminatory language, or offensive content in listings or messages.
- Posting content that violates the privacy or rights of others.
- Stalking or persistently contacting users who have asked you to stop.
Platform Abuse
- Attempting to bypass any security or access controls on the platform.
- Using the platform to distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code.
- Overloading or disrupting the platform's servers or infrastructure.
- Scraping, data mining, or systematically extracting data from the platform.
- Reverse engineering or attempting to extract the platform's source code.
3. Reporting Violations
If you encounter a listing or user that violates this policy, please report it immediately:
- Use the Report button on any listing to flag it for review.
- Email abuse@autoster.co.uk with details of the violation.
- Contact us through our Contact page.
We review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include removing listings, suspending accounts, or reporting illegal activity to relevant authorities.
4. Consequences of Violation
Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in:
- Immediate removal of offending listings without notice.
- Temporary or permanent suspension of your AutoSter account.
- Permanent ban from creating new accounts on the platform.
- Reporting of fraudulent or illegal activity to law enforcement and relevant authorities.
- Legal action where appropriate.
5. Updates to This Policy
We may revise this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically.
